“I’m incredibly grateful to have graduated from Northeastern University’s renowned co-op program, where mentors changed my life. Their guidance helped me build a career I love—one that led to learning from and collaborating with world-class innovators, from entrepreneurs and best-selling authors to Nobel Prize-winning scientists and top executives at BMW and Zappos. I’ve produced for Emmy-winning PBS Kids series and worked across five continents—experiences I never imagined as a teen just starting out.
But my journey wasn’t easy. At 17, I faced a turning point when I chose to confront my family’s struggles with alcoholism. As the first in my family to attend college, I often felt lost, trying to balance ambition with emotional and mental well-being. There was no roadmap—just a willingness to take small steps forward and show up for opportunities.
Now, as cofounder of TheCareerGuru.io, I want to help the next generation move forward with clarity and confidence. My hope is that this platform serves as a compass—offering practical guidance, tools, insider tips, and ongoing encouragement—while also paying forward the opportunities that shaped my own journey. More than anything, I want to help members build a future they truly love.”

TheCareerGuru.io was cofounded by Patricia Alvarado Núñez, an Emmy and Webby Award-winning public media executive producer, and Alan C. Grazioso, a multimedia executive who has worked in higher education, PBS Kids, and traveled the world creating films about people’s livelihoods.
Over the years, they saw their own nieces and nephews struggle with career visioning, planning, and taking actionable steps. As they mentored them, it became clear that there was a larger, unmet need for accessible and practical career guidance. With most public high school career counselors managing an average ratio of 300 students to 1 counselor, Patricia and Alan set out to close this gap.
TheCareerGuru.io was born to empower young people and their families with actionable tools, insights, and inspiration to design meaningful and fulfilling careers—delivered in a holistic, values-driven, and user-friendly platform.
